The desire to live top-notch cycling never drops in Val di Sole throughout the year. On Saturday, December 17th, Vermiglio (Trentino) will again host the Italian stage of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in the unique location of the San Leonardo Lakes.
Last year, Val di Sole brought the Cyclocross World Cup back to Italy after a 5-year hiatus, setting up a memorable show on the snow. The only cyclocross event organized on a snowy track has boosted hopes to see the cyclocross in the Olympic Winter Games program in the future while writing a page in the history of this discipline in the process.
The organizing committee, led by Grandi Eventi Val di Sole and the Val di Sole Tourist Board under the coordination of Flanders Classics and the support of the Pontedilegno-Tonale Consortium, has now opened the online ticket sales on the valdisolebikeland.com website. Tickets are available at €15, with free entry for children up to 12 years of age upon registration on the ticketing platform.
Last year, Belgian Wout Van Aert and Dutch Fem Van Empel were the winners of the Val di Sole event. Van Empel preceded a legend like Marianne Vos after an exciting duel.
The program for the 2022 edition will be opened by the free practice on Friday, November 16th, whilst on Saturday, the Elite Women's race starts at 13.00 CET followed by the Elite Men's race at 14.30 CET.
This year, side events will further enrich the Italian World Cup's festival animating the magic winter atmosphere characterizing Val di Sole with music and fun.
